There is so much to see and do in Mirboo North - an easy 2 hour drive from Melbourne.

There are a number of ways to get to Mirboo North, depending where you start your journey.

From Melbourne To Birchwood Retreat - By car

From Melbourne, the journey begins on the M1which can be easily accessed via CityLink, a tollway that connects three of Victoria's freeways, including the Tullamarine Freeway that runs from the airport to the city.

The quickest way to get to Mirboo North by car is south-east along the Monash Freeway (M1), which turns into the South Gippsland Highway (M420).

  • Once on the M1, take the Cranbourne & Phillip Island exit (M420). This will get you on to the South Gippsland Highway.

  • Continue on the M420 for approx 34 km then take the Korumburra and Leongatha exit, Route A440.

  • When you reach Leongatha take the Morwell Road to Mirboo North (approx 26 km).

  • Upon arriving in Mirboo North, travel along the main street and take the Morwell B460 turn off on the left hand side just before the hardware store.

  • Proceed 3 km along the Strzelecki Hwy and you will see the entrance to Birchwood Retreat on the left hand side of the road. (opposite Muirhead Drive).

  • Travel up the hill through the canopy of native trees, the cabins will be visible on your right hand side.
